So today I looked out the back door and I saw how the snow was melting away from the house on the back deck. It's pretty cold out there and amazing that anything is melting. It was around 10 degrees today when I ventured to take my son out and head into town for my last doctors appointment (yeah baby! - he said to come back in 3 years. NICE!) In December my oncologist should tell me not to come back anymore. That will be the best thing EVER! It was quite cold so I stuck my camera out the door and took a few shots without even looking through the lens. Then I hopped back inside. Then I stuck my camera back outside again two more times.
I will not bore you with all the photos but these are two fun pics from the day. My uncle often says you can take an a photo of something ordinary or you can take an extraordinary photo of something ordinary. So rather than a straight on photo of the ice, I have these that show that sparkle and texture of the icy melting snow with the added benefit of some depth of field.
And to end the day, the chicken I was thawing in the fridge leaked everywhere. My awesome husband jumped to the rescue. He cleaned the fridge. I cut up the chicken. Tomorrow I am going to bottle it. We need the extra heat in the house anyway. I love it when he saves the day. And now I'm off to get some much needed rest!

You continually amaze me. Your creativity and eye for taking photos is truly awe-inspiring!
Happy late Birthday! I hope you had a fabulous day and congrats on the no return to the oncologist-I can't believe it has been that long since you were diagnosed. Isn't it fun to look back at those times you thought you might never endure and then look how far you have come.
Wow...those are cool macros with a cool angle!
